Connecting Teltonika FMC003 to OBD Port

  1. Locate the OBD Port

    • The OBD-II port is typically located under the dashboard, near the steering wheel
    • Common locations include:
      • Under the dashboard on the driver’s side
      • Near the center console
      • Behind the ashtray or storage compartment
  2. Prepare the Device

    • Ensure the Teltonika FMC003 device is powered off
    • Check that the OBD connector is clean and free from damage
    • Verify that the device’s firmware is up to date
  3. Connection Steps

    • Insert the OBD connector into the vehicle’s OBD-II port
    • The connector should click into place when properly seated
    • Do not force the connection if it doesn’t fit easily
    • Ensure the device is securely mounted to prevent movement while driving
  4. Verification

    • The device’s LED indicators should show:
      • Power LED: Solid green when properly connected
      • GSM LED: Blinking when searching for network
      • GPS LED: Blinking when searching for satellites
    • Wait for the device to initialize (typically 1-2 minutes)
  5. Troubleshooting

    • If the device doesn’t power on:
      • Check the OBD port for power using a multimeter
      • Verify the vehicle’s ignition is in the ON position
      • Try a different OBD port if available
    • If no GPS signal:
      • Ensure the device has a clear view of the sky
      • Wait at least 5 minutes for first GPS fix
    • If no GSM connection:
      • Check SIM card installation
      • Verify network coverage in your area

Important Notes

  • The vehicle’s ignition must be ON for the device to receive power
  • Some vehicles may require the engine to be running
  • Keep the device away from extreme temperatures and moisture
